Dear Friend of Forchem!

May 13th 2008 was an especially good day for Forchem, as Zero Accident Forum Finland, once again gave recognition for the work we have done to ensure safety at work. The result was a record breaking accident free period of over four years. This is a significant achievement even on a global scale.

Why is occupational safety something we want bring forward? What benefits does Forchem's zero accident record have for our partners? At first glance it appears that it only matters to the organization internally with less interest to people outside the factory gates.

In my opinion occupational safety is a good indicator of not only the subject in question, but also how the company works in general. Carelessness often causes injuries. On the other hand standardized procedures, commitment and respect on an individual level are ways to minimize the likelihood of accidents. As if by chance these same qualities can also be found in Forchem's corporate values we came up with several years ago.

I believe the merits we have received in regards to occupational health, also mirror Forchem's operations as a whole. The same methods that propelled occupational safety to it's current position will keep us on top of our game in business activities as well and aid us in serving our market in the best possible way.

Wishing all our partners a successful Autumn 2008!

Martti Fredriksson
CEO
