Forchem's customer survey results
The results of Forchem’s customer satisfaction survey, published in November, are pleasing. Our customers considered product quality, price and customer service to be our special strengths. The reply rate for the e-mail survey was high, for which I would like to thank all the respondents. Our customers’ image of Forchem corresponds to our own targets.
Our customers consider Forchem a reliable and professional partner that is close to them. We were also associated with the adjectives fast, flexible and environmentally sound.
Tall oil rosin (TOR) customers appreciate different properties than tall oil fatty acid (TOFA) or distilled tall oil (DTO) customers.
Attributes that users of TOR products considered most important when choosing Forchem as their partner were:
1. Security of supply/Quality of customer service
2. Delivery performance/Professionalism of staff
3. Uniqueness of product/Product range/Quality of product
For users of TOFA and DTO products, the most important qualities were quality of the product, price and security of supply.
The overall rating given to Forchem was ‘good’.
Of all the respondents, 74% gave Forchem an overall rating of ‘good’, 17% ‘excellent’, and 10% ‘average’. None of the respondents gave a rating of ‘inadequate’ (see Table 1).

With the exception of Scandinavian and Finnish customers, the most important criteria in choosing a partner were almost always quality and price, followed by delivery performance, customer service and security of deliveries.
Scandinavian customers clearly give more weight to softer values, such as customer service and product qualities. Their ranking was as follows:
1. Security of supply/Quality of customer service
2. Delivery performance/Professionalism of staff
3. Uniqueness of the product
For Finnish customers, the most important factor by far was customer service, which was rated as number one by 60% of the Finnish respondents.
Quality of the products and consistency of quality received excellent ratings. Interestingly, the price/quality ratio was found to be average. Customers in the South European, Scandinavian and Benelux countries are most dissatisfied with the price of Forchem’s products and do not find them very competitive.
Customers most appreciate that they receive a high-quality product in a timely manner and at a competitive price. They also appreciate competent customer service and sales personnel. The results of the survey show that Forchem’s continuous and persistent development work is paying off.
