World-class occupational safety at Forchem
Forchems determined work on quality and occupational
safety issues is producing excellent results. In autumn
2005 Forchem was granted the highest occupational safety
classification Top in the world by the Zero-Accident
Forum, Finnish Institute of Occupational Health. The
same classification was received by three other companies
only. Workplaces that have reached the highest level
are among the best companies in occupational safety
in the world: the accident rate is at maximum 5 industrial
accidents per one million working hours and the severity
of accidents is at maximum 5 sick days per accident.
The Zero Accident Forum is a network of Finnish workplaces
founded in 2003. The Forum brings together workplaces
that have made a commitment to promoting work safety
and the zero accident philosophy. More than 120 companies
are already involved. The forum assesses companies in
three occupational safety development categories: Aiming
for the Top, Close to the Top and
Top in the World.
Forchem has introduced in the very first years of operation
all the major quality and environmental as well as occupational
health and safety systems. Forchem joined the Zero-Accident
Forum immediately after reaching full production capacity
in 2003. In December 2004, Forchem received certificates
in accordance with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS
18001 standards.
