Pre-registration of REACH commences REACH-regulations (Regulation, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) entered into force on 1 June 2007. The actual regulation came into effect on 1 June 2008 in the form of pre-registrations. Companies must pre-register their chemical substances to the Chemical Bureau by the end of November 2008, if they intend to continue operating. Forchem has worked out it’s REACH obligations well in advance and commenced its pre-registration processes. In Forchem’s case the actual registration deadline for its chemicals is the end of November 2010. In relation to REACH, Forchem has been in contact with wood processing industry and organisations such as Kemianteolisuus ry, which will guarantee smooth running of the entire REACH process, Forchem’s quality and environment spokesperson, Anu Valtonen confirms.     Back to frontpage
