Veren kolesterolia alentavalla elintarvikkeiden lis\u00e4-aineella kasvava kysynt\u00e4, mutta v\u00e4h\u00e4n valmistajia Euroopassa<\/strong><\/p>\n

Selluloosan valmistuksen sivutuotteena syntyv\u00e4\u00e4 m\u00e4nty\u00f6ljy\u00e4 jalostava Forchem Oy laajentaa toimintaansa Raumalla. Tislaamon yhteyteen rakennetaan uusi tuotantolinja, jolla valmistetaan elintarvikkeissa terveysvaikutteisena lis\u00e4aineena k\u00e4ytett\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 betasitosterolia. Kasvipohjaiset sterolit alentavat veren kolesterolitasoa ja ehk\u00e4isev\u00e4t syd\u00e4n-ja verisuonitautien syntymist\u00e4.<\/p>\n

Vuosina 2007\u20132008 tuotantok\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n valmistuva tehdaslinja on lajissaan maailman suurimpia tuotantolaitoksia ja tuotannoltaan Euroopan suurin sterolivalmistaja. Tehtaan investointikustannukset ovat noin 40 miljoonaa euroa.<\/p>\n

M\u00e4nty\u00f6ljytehtaan yhteyteen tulevan tislaus- ja jalostuslinjan vuosituotanto on 4 000\u20136 000 tonnia kasvissteroleja. K\u00e4ynnistytty\u00e4\u00e4n tuotanto tarjoaa 10\u201315 pysyv\u00e4\u00e4 ty\u00f6paikkaa.<\/p>\n

Vuonna 2002 tuotantonsa aloittaneella tehtaalla on parhaillaan meneill\u00e4\u00e4n tislaamon laajennusty\u00f6t kapasiteetin kasvattamiseksi.<\/p>\n

Hyv\u00e4 jalostusarvo, uusia k\u00e4ytt\u00f6kohteita<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sterolituotannon ja siihen perustuvan uuden liiketoiminnan keskeisi\u00e4 arkkitehtej\u00e4 ovat Forchem Oy:n toimitusjohtaja Martti Fredrikson ja varatoimitusjohtaja Hannu N\u00e4si. Sterolien erottaminen m\u00e4nty\u00f6ljyst\u00e4 omalla prosessilla on ollut yhti\u00f6n tuotantosuunnitelmissa jo alusta alkaen.<\/p>\n

Suuren tehdasinvestoinnin kivijalkoina ovat kasvipohjaisten sterolien vahva kysynt\u00e4 elintarviketeollisuudessa ja toisaalta sterolien valmistajien v\u00e4h\u00e4isyys.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Kaikki tehtaat k\u00e4yv\u00e4t t\u00e4ydell\u00e4 ja markkinat vet\u00e4v\u00e4t, Martti Fredrikson sanoo.<\/p>\n

Odotuksena on, ett\u00e4 kehittyneiss\u00e4 teollisuusmaissa terveysvaikutteisten elintarvikkeiden menekki kasvaa. Steroleita on t\u00e4h\u00e4n asti lis\u00e4tty ravintorasvoihin ja maitotuotteisiin, mutta steroleiden on todettu vaikuttavan my\u00f6s rasvattomien elintarvikkeiden lis\u00e4kkeen\u00e4. Kasvissterolien k\u00e4yt\u00f6lle ennakoidaan 15 prosentin vuosittaista kasvua vuoteen 2010 menness\u00e4.<\/p>\n

Steroli on arvotuote ja jalostusarvo antaa pohjaa uudelle tuotannolle, Forchemiss\u00e4 uskotaan. Valmiin tuotteen kilohinta on 10\u201320 euroa.<\/p>\n

Helpommin ja enemm\u00e4n m\u00e4nty\u00f6ljyst\u00e4<\/strong><\/p>\n

Terveysvaikutteisiin elintarvikkeisiin lis\u00e4tt\u00e4v\u00e4 sterolia valmistetaan yleisimmin soijasta tai puupohjaisista raaka-aineista. Martti Fredriksonin mukaan m\u00e4nty\u00f6ljy on raaka-aineena kiitollinen, sill\u00e4 sen sterolipitoisuus on korkea ja erottaminen on prosessiteknisesti helpompaa kuin soijasta.<\/p>\n

Rauman tehtaassa betasitosteroli erotetaan m\u00e4ntypiest\u00e4, joka on m\u00e4nty\u00f6ljyn tislauksessa syntyv\u00e4 yksi ainesosa. Yhti\u00f6 tislaa raakam\u00e4nty\u00f6ljyst\u00e4 mm. liimojen ja maalien raaka- ja sideaineina k\u00e4ytett\u00e4vi\u00e4 rasvahappoja ja hartseja. Kasvissterolien ohella uusimpana tuotekehityksen tuotteena on m\u00e4nty\u00f6ljyst\u00e4 jalostettu diesel\u00f6ljyn lis\u00e4aine.<\/p>\n

Jalostuksessa syntyv\u00e4\u00e4 m\u00e4ntypike\u00e4 k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n energiantuotannossa polttoaineena, jonka etuna on rikitt\u00f6myys.<\/p>\n
