Notice of a force majeure event

Unsuccessful collective agreement negotiations between Finnish labour and trade unions within the forest industry have resulted in a strike, disrupting pulp production in Finland, starting from 27 th January. Consequently, output of Forchem’s raw material (CTO) is impacted.

Until now Forchem has been able to maintain normal production by carefully managing raw material and product stocks. Unfortunately the strike has now been extended, and Forchem will be forced to temporarily shut down production, and postpone some orders starting from week 7.

The strike and unfortunate consequences are clearly beyond Forchem’s control. This situation as stated above falls under the force majeure provision of Forchem General Terms and Conditions of Sale: https://www.forchem.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/forchem-general-terms-and-conditions-of-sale.pdf

Forchem sincerely apologises for any inconvenience or disruption, and will keep you informed as the situation develops. We are committed to restoring our contractual supply obligations as soon as possible.

In case of any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your usual Forchem representative.

Sincerely,

Risto Näsi
